We are honored to be included in the Food100 list! It is motivating to receive recognition for the impact Coffee Based is making in addressing our climate and food challenges. As a company focused on transforming coffee waste into innovative materials, we know firsthand how challenging the steps towards a circular economy can be. Using ‘waste materials’ as raw materials is often very difficult due to regulations. Therefore, we greatly appreciate that this award provides us and 99 other companies with a platform to showcase all the innovations that are already possible!
The Food100 list consists of changemakers in the food system. It provides a platform for the 100 most influential food innovators in the Netherlands to highlight their impact on the food system. We are very proud that Lisanne Addink, the CEO of Coffee Based, is on this year's list.
For 6 years, Coffee Based has been working on processing coffee waste (#coffeegrounds and #coffeepulp) into sustainable and attention-grabbing products. A major part of our company vision is to raise awareness about the value of materials so that they are not labeled as waste. We strive for a bio-based and circular economy. To us, waste is simply a material that has lost its way. We are here to give it a new purpose in a timely manner.
