2010: VerdraaidGoed
In 2010, VerdraaidGoed started designing with the aim of preserving the value of materials and closing cycles. Using waste and residual materials as raw materials for new products and giving them a second life in the form of new, iconic products.
One of those waste streams was coffee. From this, Coffee Based emerged. Such a large waste stream with so much potential deserves its own company!

Beat the Bag reduces the use of plastic bags and gives promotional material a renewed life. By upcycling advertising banners for companies into reusable bags, we help the circular economy in further its way the Netherlands. These sustainable and high-quality bags are sewn with great love and care in social workshops. With Beat the Bag, we bolster social inclusiveness and provide local employment.
100% sustainable, 100% social and 100% local.

In Nederland ontstaat elk jaar meer dan 100 miljoen kilo koffiedik. Veel daarvan komt terecht in de vuilverbranding. Dat is zonde! Coffee Based zorgt ervoor dat dit materiaal beter wordt benut door biobased producten te maken van dit afval. Koffiedik zien wij niet als afval, maar als waardevolle grondstof!

2020: Coffee Recycle Service
Om de afvalberg van koffiedik te verkleinen en ervoor te zorgen dat we over 20 jaar nog verantwoord koffie kunnen drinken, hebben we de handen ineen geslagen met Maas en Prezero en hebben we samen de Koffie Recycle Service ontwikkeld. De koffiedik die we samen inzamelen gaat niet langer naar de vuilverbranding, maar wordt ingezet als grondstof. En het mooie is, de bedrijven waar we de koffie ophalen krijgen een deel van het koffiedik weer terug in de vorm van producten zoals zeepjes, plantenpotten of koffiekopjes van koffiedik?
2020: Coffee Recycle Service
To reduce the mountain of coffee ground waste and to ensure that we can still drink coffee responsibly 20 years' from now, we have joined forces with Maas and PreZero. Together we have developed the Coffee Recycle Service.
The coffee grounds that we collect together, no longer go to waste incineration, but are used as a valuable raw material.
A great aspect of this is, the companies where we collect the coffee receive part of the coffee grounds back in the form of products like soaps, plant pots or coffee cups made of coffee grounds.
