At the beginning of September, Coffee Based launched its newest material: Cafea Silverskin. This material is made with the layer that surrounds the coffee bean and come off when the coffee is roasted. These lighter colored panels are also available directly from stock via Plancker.

What makes our coffee panels so special
Bio-based coffee panels
The Coffee Based panel has a veneer layer made with coffee grounds or silver skin. The coffee grounds are collected in the Netherlands via the Coffee Recycle Service. The Silverskin comes from Dutch coffee roasters.
Locally produced
Coffee Based products are designed and made in the Netherlands. To this end, we work together with partners all over the country. From coffee grounds collector to extruder, we were able to find them all in our own country.
Luxurious coffee atmosphere
By using coffee grounds and silverskin, we reduce the use of new materials and petroleum plastic. Moreover, this gives the material a unique appearance. People can see, feel and smell that it is made with coffee; it will blow them away!
Engraving and printing
It is possible to saw, laser cut, engrave and print the coffee panel in full colour. The panels are available in different thicknesses and sizes, creating almost endless design possibilities.
From Coffee Bean to Coffee Panel
Sensitive material
We make coffee panels with our compostable coffee granules. Unfortunately, this means that the panel is not very resistant to moisture. If water remains on the material for a long time, it will leave stains, just like with untreated wood.
The material is also quite sensitive to scratches. It is therefore advisable to use the material mainly vertically and not as a table top, top of a bar or worktop, for example.

When Inholland University of Applied Sciences asked if it was also possible to drink coffee in a coffee corner made of coffee, the idea of 'The Bean House' was born. So far, we placed six Bean Houses at different locations of the Inholland University.
