“Waste gives me a stomachache!”
In the Netherlands, many people work passionately with biomass as a raw material. They are involved in innovations, improving (production) processes, or developing policies for a fossil-free future. We have conducted a series of interviews with individuals working at companies where bio-based raw materials are central. In this mini-series, we highlight their motivations for contributing to the transition to a sustainable world. In the fifth episode, we have a conversation with Lisanne Addink from Coffee Based.
Lisanne Addink started the conversation with a brief introduction. “I studied industrial design at Delft University of Technology. My graduation project focused on designing products using materials that are already available. At that time, sustainability was not as integral a part of the curriculum as it is today. My thesis was groundbreaking in that sense, as I set aside all conventional design methods. It resulted in a completely new approach to designing products where waste serves as a raw material.”
