Coffee Based wins in the GreenSCENT – Farm to Fork Program
Coffee Based, an innovative startup specializing in the reuse of coffee waste, has recently won the prestigious award in the Green Packaging category at the GreenSCENT – Farm to Fork Program in Brussels.
After all the inspiring pitches from the participants, Coffee Based was declared the winner in Brussels thanks to their innovative approach to sustainability. The company stands out by transforming coffee waste—specifically coffee grounds and coffee bean husks—into high-quality, bio-based products.
“Our commitment to innovation and sustainability has paid off,” says Lisanne Addink, who presented the winning pitch on behalf of Coffee Based. “This is recognition of our hard work and the potential of coffee waste as a valuable raw material for green products.”
The competition, organized by GreenSCENT in collaboration with Agorize and sponsored by RETAL, is dedicated to promoting sustainable solutions within the food industry. Coffee Based impressed the jury with their company philosophy of ‘Turn trash into treasure,’ which essentially forms the core of their business mission.
“We are incredibly proud to bring home this award, and it further establishes us as leaders in the circular economy,” said Addink. “This victory is a significant step forward in our journey towards a more sustainable world.”
With this recent victory, Coffee Based looks forward to new opportunities and partnerships to further expand their impact on the industry and continue innovating in the future.
